How it works

Find a trail without creating an account

Hikeza exists because most trail information in South Africa is scattered across reserve websites, Facebook groups and out-of-date PDFs. We pull the practical details — distance, difficulty, entry fee, dog policy and safety notes — onto one page per trail, sourced from the reserve or operator that manages the land, and link back to them for booking or current conditions.

There's no account to create and no app to install. 114 trails and picnic spots are listed across 10 regions so far, from Table Mountain and the Garden Route to Johannesburg and the Drakensberg, and it's free to browse and get in touch with a listed operator. Featured placements are paid and always labelled as such, and we link out to the source for anything that changes with the seasons, like permits or opening dates.
