Hiking trails in Modderfontein
Modderfontein Reserve is a private 265-hectare park on Norfolk Lane. Official hiking and bird-hide entry is R50 adults and R40 for children under 12. Picnic at Dam 3 is a separate ticket with limited capacity. Gates 06:00–18:00 daily. No pets except guide dogs with prior approval. The official site does not publish named kilometre loops.
Phone the gate on 081 351 1223 to check Dam 3 picnic space before you arrive. Cycling uses Taroko Trails at a published adult rate of R75. Alcohol is prohibited. This is not a Johannesburg City Parks reserve.
