Modderfontein Reserve is a 265-hectare private regional open space on Norfolk Lane, Modderfontein, Johannesburg — officially the second-largest private park in Gauteng, managed by the Greater Modderfontein Property Umbrella Association. Published activities: hiking and bird watching (adults R50, children under 12 R40), picnicking at Dam 3 (adults R50, children under 12 R35, limited capacity, braai and ablutions), cycling on Taroko Trails (adults R75, children under 12 R50), and catch-and-release fishing at Dam 3 with a daily permit. Walking trails and bird hides are provided; the official site does not publish named kilometre loops. Gates 06:00–18:00 daily, summer and winter.
