Cradle Moon lakeside hiking is the lodge conservancy day at Plot 59 Beyers Naudé Drive, Muldersdrift, in the Cradle of Humankind. Official hiking is R100 per person and includes the R50 day-visitor entry. The operator does not publish named day-trail distances for the self-paced walks.

- Guided summit hike — 20km, R200 per person, minimum four advanced hikers. Does not include the R50 conservation fee. Must be booked at reception.

What you cannot bring
No food or drinks from outside. No picnic or braai. No camping. No pets. Do not feed animals. Eat at the licensed restaurant and bar. This is why Cradle Moon does not appear on picnic spots in Johannesburg.
