Durban hiking on Hikeza is three metro reserves and one longer gorge drive. None of these is the Drakensberg. If you want mountain overnight routes, use the Drakensberg hub — it only lists easy day walks so far. See also hikes in Durban and waterfall hikes in Durban. Durban hiking trails
Durban hiking trails on this page are Krantzkloof in Kloof, Giba Gorge near Hillcrest, Kenneth Stainbank in Yellowwood Park, and Oribi Gorge as a longer South Coast day trip. None of these is the Drakensberg.
Krantzkloof Nature Reserve
Krantzkloof (listing) is the Kloof gorge reserve. Official entry 06:00–13:00, leave by 18:00. Adults R70, children R35. Card or Ezemvelo Rhino Card — not cash, not a SANParks Wild Card. Kloof Falls Road gate only. No pets, no bikes. Use the live online map; we do not republish an old colour-and-time table. Official site: kknr.org.za.
Giba Gorge Nature Reserve
Giba Gorge (listing) is the free volunteer / eThekwini walk. Official trails: Giba_Track about 3km, Ukhozi loop, Ndabushe to McIntosh Falls just under 4km each way. Dogs on a lead. The paid Giba Gorge Mountain Bike Park (official walking / picnic visitors R50) is a different operator in Pinetown — do not pay that gate just to walk the free reserve.
Kenneth Stainbank Nature Reserve
Kenneth Stainbank in Yellowwood Park is a Ezemvelo reserve. The archived official page lists about 13km of nature walks, a path designed for visitors with disabilities, a picnic site and a roughly 10km mountain-bike trail — not an invented 5km / 10km walking table. An entrance fee is charged at the gate; we have not published a rand amount because it is not on a current Ezemvelo page. Phone on the listing: 073 285 3168.
Oribi Gorge — not a Durban afternoon
Oribi Gorge is inland from Port Shepstone — two different gates. Ezemvelo Nature Reserve is the conservation-fee day visit and booked overnight camp. Wild 5 / Oribi Gorge Hotel is the private R40 view-site and included hike. Do not reuse an old R40 figure for the reserve. Lake Eland is a third private reserve (official day fee R85, hiking included).
Compare the four on the Durban hub. Listings with published hours sit in that table. Permits and Wild Card rules sit in the hiking permits guide. Run Giba Gorge Adventure Park, Lake Eland or Wild 5? You are listed without a Featured badge. Get Featured — Giba · Get Featured — Lake Eland · Get Featured — Wild 5 · Durban Featured slot from R1 990 a year — first on the hub, always labelled.
