CapeNature lists the Palmiet River Walk as an easy 10km venture of about three hours along the Palmiet River. Start no later than 14:00. Bring swimwear; swimming is only permitted at the demarcated spots. Closed shoes are required. Day-hike permits are sold at the reserve office or booked through CapeNature Central Reservations (087 087 8250). The reserve page has shown more than one day-access figure (R60/R30 in the trail copy, R65/R45 under conservation fees) — confirm current tariffs before you drive. Limited first-come parking. No cellphone reception after the gravel turn-off from the R44.
