Hennops Hiking Trail is a private farm on the R511 toward Hartbeespoort, about 30km from Pretoria and Fourways. It is the usual answer to “hiking near Pretoria” or “hiking near Johannesburg” when people want a river crossing and a graded day walk, not a municipal koppie. See hiking trails in Pretoria for the Tshwane reserves.

The three official day trails
All three start from Hadeda Camp. You get a map and orientation at registration. There are no water points on the trails — the operator asks for 1 litre of water per person for every two hours hiked. No pets, no alcohol, no music, no baby strollers. Trails are described as suitable for active, fit children older than five.
- Dassie Trail — 2km, 1–2 hours, easy to average, 70m climb. Cable car or Waterfall Bridge. Aimed at introducing children to hiking. Points of interest include Pruimpie se gat and the dassie caves.
- Zebra Trail — 5km, about 2 hours, easy to average, 110m climb. Game listed on the official page: zebra, gnu, impala, blesbok, kudu and zonkie.
- Krokodilberg Trail — 10km, 3–5 hours, average to difficult, 400m climb. Not recommended for children under 12 or unfit adults. Viewpoints, dolomite mines, Kalkoond and river crossings.

The picnic, not a second farm
Hennops Picnic Spot is on the same property. Gate 09:00–17:00, two pools, braai stands, bring your own chairs and tables. The same R100 / R50 entrance, paid at the day-hikers reception, includes hiking and mountain biking. No shop. The low-water vehicle bridge can shut the picnic after floods. Picnic spots closer to the city sit on picnic spots in Pretoria.
