The Twelve Apostles mountain range above the Atlantic seaboard, Cape Town
Cape Town region · representative photograph, not this specific trail

SANBI describes Nursery Ravine as a steep, strenuous climb up Table Mountain. Most of the path is stepped. At the top, the south face of Castle Rock is a sheer cliff. Reach the base via the Silvertree Trail, or a short cut from the top of the Protea Garden. Nursery Stream is often dry in summer. Combined with Skeleton Gorge (Smuts Track) it is one of the two routes SANBI calls safe up and down the mountain behind Kirstenbosch. The start is on the Kirstenbosch estate. Official visitor page (2026–27): South African and SADC adults R110 with ID; garden open 08:00–19:00 September–March and 08:00–18:00 April–August. Cash is not accepted. Confirm the live tariff on the official page — international and African-national rates differ.
