Official day visit

From the permits page: day permit R70. Year permit R350. Under 12 free with a paying adult. Gate 09:00–17:00, card or Zapper — no cash. Arrive before staff and you can pay when you come down; the gates stay open. Also sold at the Franschhoek Information Bureau and on Webtickets.

How much is Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve?
The official permits page: day permits R70 per person. Year permits R350 per adult. Children under 12 enter free with a paying adult. Pamphlets R30. Gate sales 09:00–17:00 — card or Zapper, no cash.
Do you need a Wild Card for Mont Rochelle?
No. The reserve is not affiliated with SANParks or the Wild Card programme. Wild Card holders still buy a permit.
Is the Franschhoek Pass open for hikers?
The official site posted that the pass fully reopened to traffic on 18 March 2026, and earlier notes that hikers with permits could still access the R45 when the pass was closed to regular traffic. Confirm the live notice before you drive. Cats Path has been closed during pass works — check the homepage.
