Johannesburg City Parks lists Klipriviersberg as a 680-hectare fenced reserve 11 kilometres south of the city centre, mainly open veld and koppies. Official page: 238 bird species, 600 plant species, blesbok, zebra and duiker, Iron Age sites, a BaTswana village replica and the 1850 Sarel Marais house walls. Several nature trails from short routes to nine kilometres; Bloubos Spruit on most of them. JCPZ walking-trails page: 30 minutes beside the spruit, or up to three hours across the koppies, with a guard at the gate. The official reserve page does not name a colour-coded trail table. The Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve Association says entrance is free, no pets, walking only, and maps are at the Peggy Vera entrance precinct. Preferred entrance opposite 129 Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park; JCPZ also describes the Silent Pool entrance at the end of Frandaph Drive. Phone 011 943 1312.
